Stefan, I told Ricardo about it (the deleted blog entry) on MSN.
I don't really think we have anything to worry about when it comes to Maria. the record company might get to choose what she can and can not have as singles, but the record company hasn't got any say in what her muse wants her to write.
I checked around about Sasha, but I couldn't find any information about him releasing a duet with Maria, at least not on Warner Music's site.

taken from here: http://www.dagbladet.no/tekstarkiv/arti ... ria%3BMenaDagbladet printed yesterday that Maria's next single is the KISS-song, but it will not be released in Norway. they write that in Norway Maria does not want attention around the single release. it is after having received good feedback from the German fanbase that "I Was Made For Loving You" is going to be released in Germany. Christian Wallis from Sony Music says that the single will not be released in Norway and that the song is being sent out to German radio stations as we speak. further he says that the Norwegian audience knows that Maria is no cover artist, but rather a brilliant songwriter and she won Spellemannsprisen for that this year. at last he says that they release this single more like a "fun thing". it is also informed that the music video was filmed at Sagene in Oslo and that they are going back to the 70s, but they do not wish to give further information. Maria does not wish to comment on the content in the article either. another thing is that "Cause and Effect" has soon reached 170 000 sold copies outside of Norway. besides she will soon be launched (or should I say released? don't know which term you prefer for the very first release in a new country) in Japan and Italy.

Okay then. I was just curious, googling and searching on youtube but I did not find it anywhere. I hope we will get to see it online soon! though I know it would surely do good as a single over here. I dont even think many people recognise it as a cover at first, because she turned it into such a different version!
But ah well, we will hopefully still get a nice single such as "Belly Up", it does it really well at shows and such.. If I could be her manager I'd do some things very differently and I would listen a lot more to what Maria had to say. But I guess that would make me a very bad manager, cause managers never do these things.. Sorry if i'm going too far with my thoughts.

yes, in my opinion; I'm In Love wouldn't have been the second single. I would have picked Belly Up, I'm In Love and maybe as a 4th when the first three were successfull; I'm On Your Side, or even a risk taking single; Power Trip Ballad
so for me the singles would be: 1 all this time 2 belly up 3 i'm in love 4 i'm on your side (or) power trip ballad

Ricardo, that sounds like the ideal order and the way to do it. personally I would love to put "Eyesore" out there as a single, just to see how it is received. I don't think it would do all that well, but I think it's interesting to have singles that have some meaning in them or darker themes, such as "Power Trip Ballad" and "Cause and Effect". "Belly Up" was a great success both on the Norwegian radio and in the Norwegian charts, and it seems the majority of the European audiences like it as well.

Turning the conversation back to "I Was Made for Loving You," I don't think you guys are giving this song enough credit! It's a great song, really it is. You have to look at it from so many different angles, just not "Oh, well is Maria singing something she didn't write? And why is it not about an eating disorder or her parents?" The song has GREAT production value, and she obviously wanted to do something different. Artists can say NO I don't want to record this song. There was obviously a great deal of support at the label for her to record this song. I think it's a brilliant step in a different direction to record a Sting song in such a different manner from the original! Just like "It Must Have Been Love" is completely different from the Roxette version.
I mean you guys obviously didn't like it, so now Maria knows what NOT to do for her commercial audience in Europe. Maybe it's a good release to the US population? Hahaha.

You totally missed the point here. Artists not always have the chance to say no! Have you ever wondered why I Was Made For Loving You is not on the Norwegian version?! Because Maria herself didn't want to, she also didn't want the song to be on the version released in the rest of Europe, but her German record company forced her (she said in an interview at dutch radio 3fm where a few members of this forum including me were a witness of) , and even made it in to a single with a video. Obviously it flopped (except for Switzerland). The reason why fans don't support it, is not because we think it's a bad song. It's really well done actually, but it's because we know how Maria felt about it and that she wasn't behind this herself. The song started out as a joke during liveconcerts because her bandmates liked it so much. I think if Maria knew this would happen, she never even would've thought of performing this live on stage. I hope this give you more perspective of why people here do not give the song enough credit, it wasn't Maria who wanted to do "something new", it was her German record label.

Plus, I think, if she wanted to do sth new she would never ever choose for this song to be her 'new angle'.
